God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. - Reinhold Niebuhr

Incheon, Republic of Korea

The flight from Mpls / St. Paul to Incheon was about 15+ hours (includes waiting at Chicago O'Hara International Airport). The first week was orientation for all new guest teachers. It must be a small world because I met a recent graduate from Minnesota State University, Mankato and we both have the same friends in common. Orientation was long and dragging but it was worth it. I learned a lot about teaching and working with co-teachers. I moved in to my new officetel and oh boy did I like it. My officetel is called Leader’s Tower and I am located very close to Bupyeong and Art Station (where the city center is). I live on the 6th floor with an outstanding view of the city. It has been painful sleeping on the floor for the past two days or so. It’s a good thing I brought some bed sheets and a quilt with me. The first day meeting the teachers at Dongam Elementary was nerve-reckoning because I didn’t know what to do. I hope to learn more about the Korean culture during my stay here. What else. Hmmm. Oh! I hope to get a bed mattress, a table, and tv set today. This would complete my officetel for now. This weekend I will probably tour more of Bupyeong and the Underground Market. So many things to see and do here in Incheon but I have plenty of time so I’m going to take it slow. Well that’s it for now. I hope to get internet in the next couple of weeks so I can post up pictures of my wonderful experience here.
