Goblin
In ancient times, Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) is an unbeatable general
in wars, but the youn King (Kim Min-Jae) is jealous of Kim Shin and kills him.
Kim Shin becomes Dokkaebi (Goblin), possessing an immortal life. At first he
thinks that he is blessed, but he realizes that he is cursed.
Closer to the present day, Kim Shin has waited 900 years for a
human bride to end his immortal life. One night, he saves a dying pregnant
woman (Park Hee-Von) who is destined to die. Meanwhile, the Grim Reaper (Lee
Dong-Wook) is unable to find the dead pregnant woman. The woman gives birth to
a baby girl named Ji Eun-Tak (later played by Kim Go-Eun). 9 years later,
Ji Eun-Tak lives with her mother and is able to see ghosts. One night, her
mother suddenly dies. On that night, she meets the Grim Reaper.
In the present day, Ji Eun-Tak is a high school student. She
still sees ghosts and hears their whisper of “Dokkaebi’s bride.” She now lives
with her aunt’s family, but she is mistreated by them. On her birthday, Ji
Eun-Tak sits by the sea with a lighted birthday cake. At that time, Kim Shin
suddenly appears in front of her. Kim Shin does not know why, but he can hear
her voice and appears in front of her against his will. Coincidentally, Kim
Shin lives with the Grim Reaper at the same house.
Now, Kim Shin appears in front of her against his will, whenever
she turns off the lights. One day, Ji Eun-Tak tells him that he is Dokkaebi and
she is his bride.

Moon Jae-Sin (Yoo Ah-In) is a
guy with troubles at Sungkyunkwan. An impulsive person, Moon Jae-Sin tends to
act before thinking. He hates his father who is a politician and his
opportunistic ways. He comes to Sungkyunwan to get even with his dad. Moon

In 1453 Prince Su-Yang kills Kim Jong-Seo to eventually become the 7th king of the Joseon Dynasty. One year before the coup, Kim Jong-Seo (Lee Soon-Jae) is the most powerful liege and the most trusted by King Moon-Jong (Jeong Dong-Hwan). King Moon-Jong becomes sick and his brother Su-Yang (Kim Yeong-Cheol) plots to take the king's throne. King Moon-Jong to ward off his brother, joins forces with Kim Jong-Seo to protect the next king, Prince Dan-Jon.
Kim Seung-Yoo (Park Si-Hoo)
is Kim Jong-Seo's youngest son. He is smart, good looking and the son
of one of the most powerful families in the country. Seung-Yoo likes to
drink alcohol with his close friends. In the palace, Kim Seung-Yoo
becomes a teacher for Princess Kyung-Hye (Hong Soo-Hyun).
Lee Se-Ryung (Moon Chae-Won)
is the eldest daughter of Prince Su-Yang. She hears talks of an
impending arranged marriage for herself with Kim Seung-Yoo and becomes
curious about her possible future husband. Se-Ryung pretends to be the
Princess Kyung-Hye and takes a class in her place. That is a secret
between Se-Ryung and Princess Kyung-Hye. Se-Ryung's first meeting with
Seung-Yoo doesn't turn out to be a good experience.
By chance, Seung-Yoo watches Se-Ryung losing control of a horse
she is riding. The horse runs towards the edge of a cliff. Seung-Yoo
saves Se-Ryung before tragedy ensues. Because of this incident Seung-Yoo
and Se-Ryung become close.

Ah-Jung (Yoon Eun-Hye) is an administrative official for the Ministry
of Culture, Sports and Tourism. She then co-ordinates a meeting for
government officials. The meeting appears to flow smoothly and she is
even praised by the minister. Disaster soon strikes when bees attack the
meeting place and the meeting turns into chaos. Taking responsibility
for meeting, Ah-Jung is ordered to submit a written apology. That
evening Kong Ah-Jung goes to a club and drinks away her sorrows.
Meanwhile,
Hyun Ki-Joon (Kang Ji-Hwan) is the president for conglomerate "World
Group." He is handsome, smart and from a rich family. But, in his teen
years due to an accident he lost both of his parents. Since that time,
Ki-Joon and his younger brother were raised by his aunt. Ki-Joon has a
responsible character as an older brother but his younger brother
Sang-Hee (Sung Joon) is more carefree. The younger brother Sang-Hee then
comes back to Korea and meets Ah-Jung at the club, while she is
drinking away her sorrows. Ah-Jung and Sang-Hee start to chat and
Ki-Joon shows up to looking for Sang-Hee. He misses Sang-Hee. in front
of the club Ah-Jung passes out and Ki-Joon takes her to the hospital. In
order to ask Ah-Jung about Sang-Hee's whereabouts, Ki-Joon stays next
to Ah-Jung's bed all through the night. The next day, they go their
separate ways.
On
the following day, Ah-Jung meets So-Ran (Hong Soo-Hyun) who stole away
her first love Jae-Beom (Ryu Seung-Soo). So-Ran and Jae-Beom eventually
married. After So-Ran and Jae-Beom became a couple, Ah-Jung studied hard
and passed her government official exam to impress Jae-Beom. At the
hair salon, Ah-Jung on a whim lies to the couple and tells them that she
is married. Ah-Jung then goes to a hotel to pay Ki-Joon for the other
night's hospital bill. An accident occurs and she spills tomato juice
all over her sweater. Ah-Jung is so embarrassed she pretends to pass
out. Ki-Joon picks her up and takes her to his hotel room. During this
time, Ah-Jung's friends watches and a rumor soon spreads that Ah-Jung
and Ki-Joon are married ....
